The Photographer Behind The Lens
Hayley creates pet pawtraits around her home in South Cheshire, UK. She lives with Louis, her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and head model, as well as a Horsfield tortoise called Tortilla who is a bit more camera shy.
She studied Photojournalism at Staffordshire University from 2016 – 2019 and is currently working on a postgraduate degree in Photography by Negotiated Study (which is the official way of saying she has been able to design her own unique programme of work and specialise in pet photography).
Hayley J Pawtraits was born out of her passion for capturing moments in time and the beauty of pets, whether they are dogs, cats, small mammals like rabbits or even exotic pets. Hayley has worked both in a professional studio setting as well as on location in various places, but as the latter is really only suitable for dogs, studio work will always remain at the heart of her portfolio.
Hayley’s long-term goal with her pawtraits is to bring more colour into the pet photography world. Bright and vivid coloured backdrops are her signature look, rather than just the neutrality of blacks, whites and greys. As the Hayley J Pawtraits logo suggests, yellow is her personal favourite!
